5-Step Process to become a
Foster Parent…..
Step #1 – Calling. Free Will Baptist Family Ministries is a Faith-Based Therapeutic Foster Care Agency. We believe that every foster parent should have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and should have a burden or calling from the Lord to take a step of faith in becoming a foster parent.
Step #2 – Complete a SAFE Home Study.
During this study, we’ll discuss topics such as your marriage relationship, your family dynamics, your extended family and your family support system. This study requires a minimum of four interviews; two of which must be in your home.
Step #3 – Training. All Foster Parents (husband and wife) are required to attend 12 weeks of Parents as Tender Healers or (PATH) Training. PATH is offered at various times of the year and on various days in various formats. Please contact us for our current class schedule.
Step #4 – Complete and submit all required forms.
Step #5 – Successfully complete local, stateand federal background checks and fingerprints.

General Qualifications:
· Applicants must be a US Citizen
· Applicants must be a resident of TN for at least 6 months
· Applicants may be single or married and must be at least 21 years of age
· Those convicted of crimes against persons, sexual offenses or those who have been identified as a party involved in an abuse investigation are not eligible to be approved as foster parents
FWB Family Ministries is a faith-based ministry looking for christian homes and families
Support Services Provided by FM:
· Generous monthly financial subsidy to care for the child in your care
· TnCare or other funding sources to cover the cost of medical, dental and psychological services for foster children
· 24 hour on-call support
· Weekly face to face visits with your family specialist
· Weekend family relief services (respite)
· Referral and retention bonus program and bonus for families interested in parenting teens and sibling groups of 3 or more children
